Time to save some money

The countdown to Easter has begun and I am busy scribbling shopping lists both on paper and in my mind. Festival times are the moments when we can catch up with family and friends. On those occasions thinking of getting thoughtful yet suiting our pocket gifts is the biggest challenge.

This year during my search for deals that would get me quality products at affordable prices I came across a wonderful website that offers discount coupons for the famous dealers and brands and some very cool offers on the go at all times. The website is Frugal Dad.

They regularly refresh and update coupon codes for products available at Tiger Direct and the discounts and deals are worth bookmarking the link for regular checks. Worth a mention are the offers about promo codes for shopping at tiger direct. For someone like me who loves shopping online and always want to buy quality products, a chance to save a cent or two is definitely a superb idea. What I usually do is make a list of all the items I wish to buy online.

Once the list is ready, I go around the local market looking for the offers at hand. I buy as much stuff I can from the local market and leave the rest for online shopping. For online shopping, Tiger Direct, Amazon, E bay and the web stores of all my favorite brands are my shopping stops. Ever since I have come across Frugal Dad, I have started keeping an eye on the promotion coupons. As soon as there are deals that would be of use to me I avail those promotional offers.

This way I am still buying goods from my trusted sites at the same time having a control on my expenses too. Being frugal or thrifty isn't a sin, just a way of life and when we have such amazing offers to pamper our fancies why not give it a try.

I have always wanted to buy an i-pad or any other tablet at an affordable price. But till date I have been putting off the idea for the worry of spending too much. Though I do have a laptop but having a tablet would be so handy and useful. Since Tiger Direct has been among my top choice for all my electronic deals, I have actually been waiting for them to put up promotional coupon offers to transform my dream of owning a tablet to a reality.

Do keep a check on the promotional offers to save money and get amazing deals for quality products.

What's wrong?

If you haven’t noticed as yet, I have literally disappeared from the blogging scene since last Saturday. Not able to post. Not able to reply to comments made on my posts and neither am I able to keep track of my favorite blogs.

If you are in touch with me on Facebook, you would be aware of the troubles Google had been giving me in the past few days. After a full week of disappointment and frustration at Google’s failures I have found out what exactly has been going on.

Friday evening, at my leisure and bitten by the technology bug, I finally decided to install Google Chrome. Mind you till now I was a happy user of Firefox. Life took a spin and everything changed pace. Browsing looked magical with the speed Google Chrome imparted to my browsing experiences.

All was going fine; my hubby looked impressed and very proud of having a technology savvy wife. But this pride and my joy of having someone proud of me didn’t see the morning sun. I was busy uploading pictures of my recent trip to the Blue Mountains to share my experiences with you all as promised. Post was all set to go on air and I was busy editing when a virus sneaked into my system. Not much aware of the flair and functions of Google Chrome, I ( yes it was me) thought the message from my anti-virus system is alerting me of a virus-infection. I followed the prompts to act like a Samurai and kill all my enemies with the stroke of my mouse (I mean sword).

I was doing fine and was proud of my prompt action but not for long. The anti-virus page that had come up was a fake posed by the incoming virus (a Trojan to be precise). When I’d thought I was the right thing, I was actually sinking in the quick sand of the trap set for me and my innocent computer. I ran a quick full computer scan with my anti-virus and since it always takes a while, I ducked in the pages of the novel which I had been ignoring for a while on the pretext of blogging.

What started with a simple scan, after several hang up hiccups eventually said ‘infected files terminated’. I actually trusted those safe messages. Cutting long story short for you have no idea when where and how I am trying to post this bit of information despite a maddening Friday at work.

So eventually a virus took over my system. I have actually tried using Kaspersky (which credits itself to be the best anti-virus around) followed by Norton and McAfee to find a cure to my solution. But nothing has worked as yet. I am determined to seek a solution and get rid of this heartbreakingly frustrating situation real soon.

In the mean time, Google received a few automated requests sent from my computer during my attempts to login to Gmail, Google reader and Blogger cause of the existing viral infection. I and my computer were thought of as spam and have been labeled as “in-human”, a robot to be exact and my Google login pages have been blocked.

I am thinking on the lines of formatting my laptop, but need to create a back up for all photographs and other important data this weekend.

I am trying my level best to find a cure of this serious infection (of my computer). Till then please bear with my absence. Trust me folks, your blogs and what all fun you all must be having is on my mind 24 hours.

I shall be back soon and we all shall blog again happily ever after.

Brownie

brownie

It was a Sunday, a day 4 year old Candy loved for she didn’t have to worry to go to  the day care.

But it wasn’t her type of Sunday, for her mum Margaret who was a nurse, was called to work during the early morning hours cause of a mass casualty in the area.

Her dad had just got home and sounded busy in the kitchen. All she wanted was a brownie.

But little had she realized it wasn’t the right time for one. She walked into the kitchen holding her teddy at the wrong moment, just as her dad was going into a drunken rage after a night of losses at gambling.

She went to seek a brownie but left with a black eye filled with tears.

The Piano

Olivia taught piano lessons in the evenings to help her family raise some extra funds. One Wednesday evening a seventy-two year old man, Francis enrolled in her class.

His enthusiasm to learn the piano surpassed the interest the younger students of her class showed.Curious to know what inspired him to learn at his frail age, Olivia asked Francis, what inspired him to learn the piano at his age.

Pulling in a deep breath Francis replied; “For the last forty-five years my wife used to play sweet melodies for me every Sunday after breakfast and dinner and that she is gone, I am trying to keep the tradition alive.”

Missing

I’d declared it the day I learned about it, I knew it’ll be tough. But it would be soBlue Mountains demanding wasn’t what I had realized earlier. If you haven’t noticed it, I have been missing from blogging scene in the past ten days and will again be hopping on and off in the up-coming five.

The last few days saw me earn loads of fly points, through travel and dining.I am still away from home, but lot more relaxed for the work is over and I am relaxing like a pampered tourist left with luxury to savor. If you are about to ask me where exactly I am.

Let me tell you, it’s your task for the day to guess by the clues I’ll leave in this post. I am far away from home in the land where every year New Year arrives the earliest. The majestic sea side with never failing to fascinate food and fashion is a huge highlight here. After never ending work hours and bright lights, loads of public attention and study, I am finally back.

The fun isn’t over yet and neither is my journey. While I wait for the rain to stop before I move on with my journey of enjoying the Blue Mountains, I am off to check out what all of you have been up to while I was away. It’s been raining cats and dogs in the past few days, with the winters at their peak, I am not sure if I’ll be able to click as many pictures I’d love to. Get ready folks, for all your blogs are going to see me bombarding them all with comments galore.

Weather

 weather
Rose and Richard had been together for years. They had been good friends  since college and luckily landed in the same company with their first job.

Life moved on without anyone hinting any romantic inclinations towards the other. There were several occasions when their friends would get curious to know what’s been going on between them, but both would stick to the famous phrase, “we’re just good friends”.

Weather could play a life changing role in one’s life was something Richard was soon to discover. The moment of realization and the prompt to take the first step forward in their relationship came when he once overheard Rose speak to her room-mate.

She confessed that she checked the local weather for the city Richard would be in everyday whenever he was away on business travel just to see what his day would be like, hoping he has a good day.
